Schooner Windjammer Sunset Sail

The sunsets in Key West are unlike those in any other part of the world. Millions of people visit Key West every year to snorkel in the reefs, paddleboard in the mangroves and lay gaze to the extraordinary sights that each evening’s sunset can offer. When you’re visiting the island, enjoy the sunset in true Key West fashion — aboard an exquisite vessel like the Appledore II.

The Perfect Evening

A champagne sunset sail can be the perfect way to end your Key West day. Whether you spent the day in the water enjoying our countless water sport activities, took a walking tour of the island, or lounged on the beach for some afternoon sun, end your day gliding gracefully on the darkening waters as you have an unbeatable view of the setting sun and the glorious colors streaming across the endless sky.

We invite all Key West visitors to experience our Schooner Champagne Sunset Sail. Spend the evening in quiet contemplation with awe-inspiring views of the sunset. Lounge with a loved one on the spacious deck and sip champagne. Gather the kids together for a vacation ending you’ll never forget. Our sunset sail is perfect for every special occasion, and our guests often celebrate anniversaries, engagements and other happy moments in the company of our Appledore II crew.

As we tour the Key West Historic Harbor, you’ll be able to spot the nightly celebration at Mallory Square, a true testament to how beloved every sunset really is in Key West. The two-hour cruise gives you a unique look at the fiery skyline Fort Zachary Taylor paints against the island and horizon. Enjoy complimentary wine, beer, champagne and sangria, as well as water and soft drinks, while you roam the open deck of the Appledore II. A fruit and cheese platter is served to whet your appetite for evening dining on the island. With so many delicious local dining establishments, we know you’re sure to find your way to something tasty.

Appledore II Windjammer

The Appledore II is an 89-foot windjammer that was built in the historic style of 19th century schooners. The New England style of construction dates back to 1871 and can still be seen today.

The owners of the Appledore II, Herb and Doris Smith, knew the ship was meant for greatness when it was first created. Launched in 1978 from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the ship’s first voyage was to experience the world. The Smiths sailed the Appledore II around the world, beginning in New England and stopping at exotic ports along the way.
