Our Southpoint Divers Tour only operates using custom diving boats. Dive in luxury from the new, top of the line 50’ Newton Phoenix. The Newton Phoenix is the fastest (and most current) diving boat that is available on the island. All boats have fresh water showers, bathrooms, and both ladders and diving platforms. Additionally, all boats offer ample storage space that is necessary to store diving gear and the photo tables where you can place video and photographical equipment.
Our morning excursion begins bright and early at 8:30 am! The Southpoint Divers Tour is run on a daily basis. Two tanks will be used during the trip. The first tank is used for those who plan to visit the Cayman Salvager or Joes Tug.
Joes Tug is a 75-foot, steel-hulled tugboat. This large vessel is located at a depth of 65 feet and can be found resting in coral. Joes Tug was sunk in 1984. It has since become an artificial reef.
Your other choice is the Cayman Salvager. This humongous boat is a whopping 180 feet long! The Cayman Salvager is a steel Hulled buoy tender that sunk in 1985 and serves as an artificial reef, as well. At one point the Cayman Salvager rested fully on her side though it was later set right by hurricane-force waves. It is now located in between 65 to 90 feet of water against a sandy bottom.
The final tank you have can be used as you explore the wonders of a living coral reef while you are on your tour.
